FAQs

Q: How much does it cost?

A: The rental fee is $19 per hour for the first dog, $5 for each additional dog. If you are concerned about getting your dog back on leash after 1 hour, we recommend a 2 hour rental to start.

Q: What health requirements does the space require?

A: Dogs must be current on rabies and DHPP vaccines, or have current titers/recommendation from their veterinarian. We recommend bordetella, influenza, Lyme disease, and heartworm vaccines or preventatives as well, but they are not mandatory. Please do not bring your dog to the park if they are sick. Puppies cannot come to the park until they have their rabies vaccine.

Q: Can I arrive early?

A: No. It is very important that you do not enter the property (including the parking lot) until your served time slot, in order to be considerate of reactive dogs. Be sure to exit the property on time as well.

Q: How will I gain access to the park?

A: You will receive the code for the lock on the gate 24 hours prior to your visit in your confirmation email.

Q: Will my dog be secure in the space?

A: The area will be completely fenced with a 6′ chain link fence and a single gate. If your dog can jump 6′ fences, then please keep your dog on leash. The fence will go to the ground, but please monitor your dog to make sure they do not dig holes under the fence (they will have plenty of other activities to do).

Q: I’m nervous to let my dog off leash in a large area. What do you recommend?

A: Start out with a long line leash (15′-30′). Practice recalls on leash with high value treats, then transition to off leash play. Or you might find you prefer the security of a long line during your entire stay. Either way your dog will enjoy their nature walk! Learn more about teaching recalls here.

Q: What do I do if I can’t get my dog back on leash to leave?

A: High value treats (chicken, beef, liver) can be very powerful to reinforce a recall. If you think an hour will not be enough time to fully exercise your dog, we recommend reserving a 2 hour time block to ensure you have the time needed to retrieve your dog. A neon bandana might be helpful in locating your pup too!

Q: Can I drop off my dog to play on their own?

A: No. We ask that you stay with your dog and monitor their activities while you are at the park. This will be a bonding experience with you and your dog!

Q: Will the space be clean?

A: We ask that everyone do their part to clean up after their dog. We know this might be a challenge if they do their duty too far away for you to find it. So we encourage you to “poo it forward”. Pick up any pet waste that you see and we will all do our part to keep the park clean. Please take all trash with you as we do not have a trash receptible onsite. Vaccine requirements will be strictly enforced.

Q: How can I get my dog to stop sniffing?

A: Sniffing is a fantastic activity for dogs to participate in! Sniffing makes dogs happy and with noses that can be 10,000x more sensitive than ours, it makes sense that they would prefer to explore their world through their nose!

Q: Can I schedule a playdate with a dog friend?

A: Yes! Our fee schedule will be based on the number of dogs utilizing the space. All dogs must submit vaccine records for registration. Please ensure the dogs are friendly with each other before allowing them to use the forest together.

Q: Can my entire family enjoy the park?

A: Yes! We welcome all ages to utilize the area, but please note that the space will be a natural forest, so you are responsible to monitor your children for safety.

Q: What supplies should I bring?

A: The following supplies are recommended: leash (all dogs must be on leash to safely enter and exit the park), poop bags, water, water dish, high value treats (for recalls and cues training), and depending on the season, mosquito spray and a rag to clean off your pup’s paws.

Q: Can I cancel my reservation?

A: You can reschedule your booking with 48 hours notice.

Q: What happens if it rains or we have poor weather?

A: If there is heavy rain, a thunderstorm, weather watch or weather warning you can certainly reschedule your visit. Otherwise, your dog will probably love playing in the rain or snow, and the trees provide natural coverage for the humans to stay dry!
